"What motivates me as a real estate professional is the opportunity to help make my clients’ dreams come true. Everyone I work with is like part of my own family, which always keeps me focused on what matters most to them throughout the process."

Terri Garcia Is Always Focused On What Matters Most.

When you have three children and 13 grandchildren, there’s a good chance that family is a meaningful part of your life. That’s certainly the case for Terri Garcia. To her, nothing is more important than enjoying life in Kern County with her husband, Camilo, and those they care about most. In fact, many members of her close-knit family work alongside Terri, who has been a leading local real estate professional since 1991.

A New Lease On Life

Terri is always happiest whenever any of her large family is around to spend quality time with her and Camilo.

Anyone who knows Terri would never doubt her commitment to family values, but it was a near-fatal car accident that forever solidified her focus on making every moment count. She and Camilo were on their way to Santa Barbara with their youngest daughter, Angelica, asleep in the back seat. In the blink of an eye, an out-of-control vehicle ran into their car and in the midst of the crash, Terri was able to look back at her daughter—for what she feared was the last time—and said a quick prayer. Miraculously, Angelica survived with barely a scratch.

Camilo was injured, but Terri took the worst of it. Doctors told her she would never walk again and likely wouldn’t survive another five years. After countless surgeries and grueling therapy, she walked out the doors of that hospital three months later with a newfound appreciation for life. That accident was in the summer of 1986, and Terri’s positive resolve has only gotten stronger ever since. “When you survive something like that, it changes you forever,” she says. “You can succumb to the challenge or you can stay focused on a brighter future ahead. I chose the latter.”

Committed to Service

For years, Terri and her family owned a successful 7 Eleven store in Delano and later purchased a second franchise in Shafter. As great as the businesses were, the 24/7 way of life took its toll and the accident obviously helped Terri refocus her personal priorities. She had always been passionate about working with people, so a transition to real estate sales was the perfect fit. After Terri established her own career, other members of her family followed suit. Her son, Joshua, earned his broker’s license and together they opened New Generation Real Estate. More members of her family came on board and together they have built one of Kern County’s premier independent real estate brokerages with a reputation for treating customers right.
